Rockies Ice Specialists

The name says it all. Sean Easton and I are the main guides involved with RIS. Our goal is to provide the highest level of winter climbing guiding, mentoring, and instruction. We are open to all queries but specialize in providing 'dream ice climbing vacations' and assisting those who want to take their climbing to the next level.
Ice Climbing is what we love and we want to share this passion with you. Please see www.rockies-ice.com for more information on our services and also for consistent ice conditions updates.

Hope to see you this winter!

Guided trips for the Alpine Club of Canada

Along with Sean Isaac(assistant guide) and Dave Dornian (camp manager) I am staffing 2 really cool trips in 2007 for the Alpine Club of Canada. The ACC puts on very unique trips every year. They are generally very well priced and offer amazing opportunities to visit areas a little off the beaten path.

We are doing an Ice Climbing Camp in February that will be based partially out of the Beauty Creek hostel on the Ice Fields Parkway and then out of the ACC Canmore Clubhouse. The Beauty Creek Hostel is normally closed in the winter but they have graciously let us use it for our camp.

The Rock Climbing Camp takes place over the July long weekend and is set in the Ghost River Valley and the Bow Valley. The Ghost is a must see place for all outdoors enthusiasts. Seeing is believing...the Ghost area is simply breathtaking!

Kichatna Video

In spring 2005 I went to the Cathedral Spires in the Alaska Range (west of Denali), with Sean Isaac and Roger Strong. We (actually Roger and Sean, I was too lazy)took a bit of footage with Sean's camera and our friend Chris Alstrin edited the footage for us and made the following video.

Chris is a talented up and coming film maker. Both last year and this year his movies have made the Banff Mountain Film Fest. He is presently working on a climbing film that will include chapters from Zion, The Black Canyon of the Gunnison, the Ghost River Alberta, Alpinism in the Canadian Rockies, and many other cool ideas. The Zion chapter will be in this year's film fest and he hopes to tour the completed project in spring 2007. Stay tuned to www.hg-productions.com
